Join Nicole Herzog for a 9-day yoga & safari retreat surrounded by vast skies, ancient trees, and the gentle rhythm of wildlife all around us.
Each day begins with sunrise yoga and ends with golden-hour stillness — a blend of movement, meditation, and safari magic. Expect nourishing meals, open skies, and a deep connection to the rhythm of nature.
Here, the boundaries between practice and life gently dissolve — and what remains is simplicity, awareness, and awe.
Nicole Herzog is a yoga teacher, retreat leader, and soulful traveler devoted to creating spaces where movement, nature, and stillness meet. Her teachings blend creativity, grounding, and heart — inspired by her background in Bhakti Yoga, vinyasa and restorative Yoga. She understands her classes as a journey towards this inner place called “Home" - where you meet yourself and bring that knowledge into the world.
With the presence in the plains retreat, Nicole invites you to reconnect with your inner rhythm through mindful movement , chanting and immersion in the natural world. Her approach weaves together ritual, reflection, and adventure — helping each participant rediscover balance and presence.

Thierry Nyfeler founded Munga Plains after a transformative trip to Botswana in 2021. Leaving behind his tech industry role, Thierry created Munga Plains to offer to others the profound disconnection he experienced. Since 2022, he has dedicated himself to building a sanctuary that embodies healing, sustainability, and community.
Community at Heart
Munga Plains is dedicated to the well-being and growth of the local community. Situated on the former tribal land of the Basubiya people, we honor their cultural heritage by hiring local staff, supporting artisans, and collaborating on community projects. Our guests experience local traditions and lifestyles, ensuring every visit positively impacts the community.

Sustainability is at the core of Munga Plains. Our facilities, built with wood, thatching grass, and canvas, have a minimal environmental impact. We use solar power, treat our own water and sewage.
