IMPACT Yoga Retreat and Safari

Our week long yoga adventure is focused on the impact of living our lives authentically. When we align our beliefs with our actions we can live life intentionally. 


Cultivating our own inner awareness through yogic practices such as meditation, mental/physical movement, relaxation, and joy! This retreat threads together the themes of how to navigate life authentically by using self awareness tools in workshops, guided meditations, and Yoga Nidra. Life is a dance between flow and surrender, the posture classes will also vary between vinyasa, slow flow, and yin.

MARCIA VALENE

Welcome to the transformative world of yoga with Marcia Valene, an internationally recognized yoga teacher and trainer dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey to inner peace and wholeness.


With a rich experience spanning across the globe, from Asia to Latin America from the serene shores of Fiji to the vibrant landscapes of Portugal, Marcia brings a unique perspective to the practice of yoga. Her teachings are deeply rooted in Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha, Yoga Nidra, and meditation. Her classes reflect a profound understanding of both physical and spiritual well-being.


A passionate advocate for yoga philosophy and Ayurvedic principles, Marcia is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500hr+ and YACEP by Yoga Alliance and seamlessly weaves these ancient wisdoms into her teachings, fostering a holistic approach to health and healing. Currently studying yoga therapy with the Sivananda Ashram, she is committed to empowering her students to reconnect with their true selves and achieve balance in mind, body, and spirit.


Driven by a mission of community understanding and inspired by the principles of yoga, Marcia creates an inclusive and nurturing environment where practitioners of all levels can flourish. Designed by Tswana chef and author of Taste of Botswana Ednah Rosen, our chef prepares delicious and nutritious local dishes, from healthy, gluten-free salads to veggies samosas and revitalising juices made with our garden's seasonal fruits.

Arrival

Arrive at Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe, and start your retreat with a guided tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls and yoga at sunset, followed by a peaceful evening in the town of Victoria Falls.


Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya or "The Smoke That Thunders," is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it is the largest waterfall in the world based on combined width and height, creating a stunning and awe-inspiring spectacle.

Discover Chobe National Park

Begin your day with setting your intention for the week with your fellow travellers, followed by a nourishing continental breakfast before heading to Botswana. Enjoy an exciting boat cruise and game drive in Chobe National Park before settling down at Munga Plains for the night.


Chobe National Park boasts the world’s largest concentration of elephants, often seen in herds along the Chobe River. The park is also home to lions, leopards, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species. Birdwatchers can delight in over 450 species of birds, making it a paradise for ornithologists.

Step into the wild

Your first full day at Munga Plains starts gently with a meditation session followed by an optional light breakfast before the morning yoga session.


Go deeper into your yoga practice with an afternoon yoga workshop, then head to the bush for a short nature walk and watch the sunset drink in hand.

Explore your inner self

In the morning, follow Marcia on a guided meditation and yoga session. After lunch, embark on a thrilling safari adventure in Chobe National Park. Encounter diverse wildlife, from majestic lions and stealthy leopards to powerful buffalos and graceful giraffes.

Flow with the horizon

Another day focused on the practice of yoga. Start with a meditation and yoga session in the morning, and go deeper in your practice with a yoga workshop in the afternoon.


After dinner, join us for an optional night drive to find hyenas and other nocturnal animals!

Honor local traditions

After the daily yoga and meditation sessions, take a guided village tour with the Basubiya people, followed by traditional dances and boma dinner around the fire pit.
